SEAMUS NOONAN MEMORIAL POC FADA, 2016

Presentation Night

Sincere thanks to everyone who took part or helped and contributed in any way at the annual Poc Fada held by Inniscarra GAA/Inniscarra Camogie Clubs on St. Stephen’s Day, 26th December, 2016.  It was a great success with over 70 teams taking part.  There was a large attendance afterwards in Aras Tadgh O’Muiri where light refreshments were served – including Dympna’s now famous mulled wine!!

Winning Team:         Dan O’Connell (Capt), Tom O’Sullivan and Sean Aherne

Second:                       Rob O’Mahony, Colm Holland and Caitlin Looney

Third:                          Daire Holland, Mary Buckley and Daniel Buckley

The proceeds from the Poc Fada were donated to Marymount Hospice and Inniscarra Blue BOCCE Club.

On Thursday night the 19th January, 2017, a presentation of the proceeds were made at the Wayside Inn.   Anne O’Mahony accepted a cheque on behalf of Marymount and thanked the Clubs for their continued support of Marymount.

Tim Foley accepted a cheque on behalf of Inniscarra Blue BOCCE Club.   The Club was set up by local man Pat Burton regarding a sporting requirement for special needs athletes within the local community.   The Club caters for teenagers and young adults.  Bocce is a form of bowling.   The members practice every Tuesday night in the Community Centre in Ballyanly.

Mary Noonan presented the “Seamus Noonan Memorial Cup” to Tom O’Sullivan and Sean Aherne on behalf of the winning team.
