FE-16 HURLING SHIELD FINAL 2020-09-07 19:51:00

Inniscarra had a very good win over Ballinora in the Rebel Og Mid Fe 16 Hurling Shield Final at Ballyanly on Saturday.  The final score doesn't reflect the superiority of Inniscarra as Ballinora scored two goals and two points in the last few minutes of the match.  Inniscarra started well with a good clearance by Andrew Scannell setting up Daniel Murphy for the first point of the match. Cillian Ryan then scored a point after a good pass from Harry Church followed by another point from Danny Murphy after a good block and clearance by Ross O'Donovan reached Brian Lowney who passed to Cameron Lynch and he set up Danny for the point. Excellent work at midfield by Jonathan Keane got the ball to Michael Murphy and he scored a lovely point. Ballinora responded with three points to leave the score at the first water break  

Inniscarra  0  - 4,  Ballinora  0  -  3.   After the restart Inniscarra scored three goals in succession, the first by Michael Murphy after a great catch and clearance by Conor Sheehan, the second by Danny Murphy after a long clearance by Tadhg Lyons, followed by a goal by Cillian Ryan after a beautiful line ball by Liam Buckley.  Great defending by Tadhg Lyons saw him speed out of defence and score a long range point followed by another Michael Murphy point after a good clearance by Conor Sheehan. Good defending by Calum Larkin got the ball to Andrew Scannell and his clearance reached Cameron Lynch and he scored a point.  A good catch and pass by Liam Buckley set up Michael Murphy for a long range point and excellent defending by David Keane got the ball to Harry Church and he set up Danny Murphy for the final score of the first half.  Half Time Score,

A beautiful pass from Cillian Ryan picked out Brian Lowney and when his shot came back off the post it was picked up by Michael Murphy who scored the first point of the second half.  A lovely move started by a good clearance by Ben Gleeson was picked up by Jonathan Keane and he picked out Tom Coughlan who scored a lovely point. David Keane, who was superb at full back, broke up an attack and got the ball to Tom Coughlan who gave a pass to Conor Sheehan and he scored another point. Cameron Lynch then scored two points after good work by Jonathan Keane and Liam Buckley.  Second water break  Inniscarra  3  -  14,  Ballinora  1  -  8. Inniscarra were now well in control with Michael Dineen defending well and Eoin Earle and Sean Connolly busy in attack. A long clearance by Ben Gleeson reached Liam Leisk and was helped on by Donal Dineen to Liam Buckley who scored Inniscarras last point.
