PREMIER 1 U-13 FOOTBALL LEAGUE. INNISCARRA 6 - 11, ST.NICKS 1 - 1.

 

Inniscarra had a comfortable win over St. Nicks at Ballyanly on Monday evening. After a slow start Inniscarra dominated the game playing a beautiful brand of football with Sean McCarthy and Colin O'Leary dominating midfield. The half back line of Ethan Pigott, Oisin O'Brien and Jack Walsh were commanding particularly in the first half against the wind. Inniscarra opened the scoring with a point from Sean McCarthy and he followed with a goal and a point. A brilliant free flowing movement involving Oisin O'Brien and Sean Leisk led to a point from star forward Liam O'Connor. Sean McCarthy scored another point from a neat pass from Se Dineen before Sean Leisk pointed a free to leave the score at half time INNISCARRA  1 - 5, ST.NICKS  1 - 0.

The second half continued with some fantastic football and the workrate of the wing forwards Josh Ambrose and Stephen Linehan laid the foundation for some brilliant scores. Anytime St. Nicks succeeded in getting the ball upfield the fullback line of Neil Vaughan, Keith O'Mahony and James Flannery were superb ably assisted by dependable goalkeeper Andrew McCarthy and they limited St.Nicks to one point in the second half. Liam O'Connor pointed the first free of the second half after a foul on Oisin Morris. Sean McCarthy then scored two superb goals and a point following good work by Sean Leisk and Josh Ambrose. A lovely pass from Tom O'Sullivan set up Josh Ambrose for a goal. Sean McCarthy then scored two points the second set up by John Gould. Oisin Morris then set up Liam O'Connor for a goal and a second soon followed after a pass from Se Dineen. Two Sean Leisk points completed the scoring for a comfortable win.
