Inniscarra had a well deserved victory over Valley Rovers in the Rebel Og Coiste Fe-15 Premier 2 Football Shield Semi-Final at Brinny last Sunday morning. The continuous rain during the match made ball control difficult but Inniscarra had a very respectable score at the end of the match. Inniscarra scored first with Conor Earle feeding a lovely through ball to Cormac Dineen who converted the chance. Sean Linehan then set up Daniel O'Connor for a point before good defending by Colman Aherne got the ball to Jonathan Pigott who picked out Darragh O'Brien and his pass reached Daniel O'Connor who scored his second point. A foul on David Linehan led to a quick free by Niall Buckley reaching Ben O'Connell who scored a very good point. A good block and clearance by Michael Lyons reached Cormac Dineen whose ball into the attack was fielded by Sean Murphy and he passed the ball to Niall Buckley who scored a good point. Good work by Conor O'Sullivan got the ball to Conor Earle who was fouled with Daniel O'Connor's free coming back off the upright which was fielded by Sean Linehan and his shot came back off the crossbar before Daniel O'Connor scored another point. Valleys got a goal just before half time and Inniscarra had a goal disallowed to leave the half time score INNISCARRA 0 - 6, VALLEY ROVERS 1 - 3.


Inniscarra started the second half strongly with Cormac Dineen picking out Darragh Lyons whose pass reached Daniel O'Connor and he scored another point. Good defending by Michael Lyons and Jonathan Pigott got the ball to Ronan O'Keeffe who ran through the middle and passed to Conor O'Sullivan who scored a fabulous point. Inniscarra were then rocked by a lucky Valley Rovers goal against the run of play but they responded well with Ronan O'Keeffe fielding a high ball and setting up Daniel O'Connor for a point followed by a Daniel O 'Connor goal after good work by Colman Aherne and Aogain Quinlivan. Good defending by David Linehan and Cormac Dineen led to another Ben O'Connell point. A perfectly placed kick out by Trevor O'Reilly was fielded by Ronan O'Keeffe and his quick delivery was picked up by Conor O'Sullivan who scored a valuable point. Good defending by Kevin O'Connell got the ball to Darragh O'Brien who picked out Ben O'Connell resulting in a free which Daniel O'Connor pointed. A good catch by Niall Buckley (now in control at full back in the second half) got the ball to Ryan Murphy who passed to Cormac Dineen and his flick to Conor O'Sullivan resulted in another point. A foul on Aogain Quinlivan led to another Daniel O'Connor pointed free and Inniscarra withstood a final assault by Valley Rovers to end the game victorious on a scoreline of INNISCARRA 1 - 14, VALLEY ROVERS 2 - 4.
